Have a listen to the latest single peeps, it's out actually today, and is the first new song off of the 4th Album, tentatively entitled... 4th Album. We will be working on that one though. The song is called 32 Years. https://germanshepherdrecords.bandcamp.com/album/32-years
In such strange times producing an album is weird. We have been using a platform we are calling Skype (not its real name) and it's challenging. Playing music together is impossible because of the low upload speeds, so there's always a lag on one side of the conversation. This has meant that technophobe me has a steep learning curve trying to use Logic Pro and record my contributions in my living room. Fortunately my children are grown, we don't have a budgie and the ice cream van hasn't been round recently. The Lizard Lounge studio in Lode is out of bounds to me and Mark (and my mother my dog and clowns) but we can see it behind Richard's head. We have nevertheless successfully mixed and mastered another track, entitled Checking My Brake Cables Every Day. It's what happens when the retelling of an argument, in which we are always the good guys of course, reaches its logical and upsetting conclusion. Why oh why won't people understand that it's me that's always right, and not them? It's not easy being perfect you know.
If you catch this within a couple of days we are interviewed about the new single 32 Years on the Stagger Indie show on Cambridge 105 on Sunday: https://cambridge105.co.uk/shows/stagger/
and if you are reading this after Sunday 26th April you can catch up on: https://www.mixcloud.com/staggerindie/ at any time. We also give them a sneak preview of Checking My Brake Cables Every Day and they play our recent release Turning The Wheel.
Can't hear the A14... but I can hear the bird on the wire. The thing about going back to normal is... well, maybe we can check up on normal. And when it's dysfunctional we can rethink it. Stay safe everyone...
